Fine Print Snitch vs Strongly Worded
The short answer
Fine Print Snitch reads a contract before you sign and points out the fees, renewals and lock-ins. Strongly Worded is for after it went wrong, when you need a firm complaint that gets you a refund or a fix. Before you sign, use Fine Print Snitch. When the product or service let you down, use Strongly Worded.
Fine Print Snitch
Paste a contract or terms page before you sign. Get every auto-renewal, extra fee and lock-in clause, quoted word for word, plus what it really costs over the full term.
- You paste
- Paste the whole text. Copy the contract, terms page or order summary, all of it, including the bits in small grey type. Remove your name, address and account numbers first.
- You get
- Before you sign. Ask if a move to another city ends the contract, get the Fee Schedule, and put the cancel deadline (31 July 2028) in your calendar.
- When to use it
- Use it right before you sign something with a monthly price and a minimum term, when the offer page says one number and the PDF is six pages of small print.
- When to skip it
- It isn't a lawyer and doesn't know the consumer rules where you live. It reads only what you paste, so anything the contract points to elsewhere (a fee schedule, house rules) is listed as missing, not guessed. For a house, a job contract or a business deal, get real legal advice.

Strongly Worded
Paste what went wrong, the dates and what you want. Get a firm, polite complaint with the facts in order, one clear ask and a deadline, ready to send to the company.
- You paste
- Write down what happened. What you bought, when, the order number, what went wrong, and every contact you've had with them, with dates and what they said. Rough notes are fine.
- You get
- If they ignore it. One calm line saying you'll take it to your card company as a dispute, with this letter and the chat history attached.
- When to use it
- Use it when support has stopped answering, or keeps sending the same template, and you need one clear message that puts the facts in order and asks for something specific by a date.
- When to skip it
- It doesn't know the consumer law where you live and won't cite rules it can't check, so it asks for an outcome, not a legal remedy. It only uses the facts you give it. For a big claim, an insurance fight or anything heading to court, talk to a consumer advice center or a lawyer.
