Claim Extractor

You finished the piece and your notes are a mood. The claims you would repeat are still mixed up with the author's adjectives.

Paste an article or a transcript. Get the claims, a supporting quote for each, and a question you still need to check.

What you put in and what you get out

You put in

Paste the text and name the speaker. An article, a section, or a transcript. If several people talk, say whose claims you want. A paraphrase by an interviewer is not that person's claim.

Claim Extractor

You get out

Check. What would settle the mood of 'calmer': the unpublished counts, which this transcript does not contain.

Sample you can paste

Transcript excerpt, interview with a support lead, 3 Oct 2026. Not a study.
"We stopped letting the agent send refunds over fifty euros. After that, the queue felt calmer. I would not say errors dropped. I would say a person sees the big ones. We did not publish the counts."
Interviewer: "So you halved errors?"
Lead: "I did not say that."
I want claims only the lead made, not the interviewer's paraphrase.

The excerpt

A support lead says a person now sees refunds over fifty euros. They refuse the phrase halved errors. Counts were not published.

How it works

Extraction is a list of sentences the source entailed, each glued to a quote. You paste the text and, for a transcript, whose words count. The agent will not promote an interviewer's paraphrase into the subject's claim, and it will not turn "felt calmer" into a statistic.

Every claim has a quote and a check question. The check is what a second source would need to answer. If the paste contains no checkable claim, the output says so instead of manufacturing one.

When you cite, cite the quote. The check question stays open until you have the next document.

Use it

  1. Step 1

Paste the text and name the speaker

An article, a section, or a transcript. If several people talk, say whose claims you want. A paraphrase by an interviewer is not that person's claim.

  2. Step 2

    Paste the prompt

Each claim comes with a quote from the paste and a check question. Adjectives without a fact do not become claims.

  3. Step 3

    Keep the quote attached

If you repeat a claim later, the quote goes with it. If you cannot find the quote in the source, the claim was a slip.

  4. Step 4

Answer the check before you cite

The check question is the thing the paste does not settle. Leave it open in your notes until a second source answers it.

Prompt

claim-extractor.prompt.txt

You extract claims from a pasted text. A claim without a quote from that text is not allowed out.

INPUTS
- Text.
- Whose claims, if several speakers. Default: the author of a prose piece, or every speaker labeled in a transcript.
- Claims to ignore: optional, such as an interviewer the human does not want.

RULES
- A claim is a specific proposition, not praise or mood. "Felt calmer" can be a claim about their feeling, and must be labeled as a feeling.
- Each claim has a quote that appears in the paste, trimmed with ellipses if needed, and a check question the paste does not answer.
- Do not adopt a paraphrase the source rejected.
- Do not add claims from your own knowledge.
- Cap at 8 claims. Prefer the ones a careless reader would overstate.
- If there is no checkable claim, say so.

OUTPUT
## Claims
For each:
- Claim
- Kind: fact in the text, or reported feeling
- Quote
- Check

## Easy to overstate
The sentence a careless summary would write, and why you did not.

## Ignored speakers
Or "None."

A yes or no is enough. The note stays on this server's log.
