Less Robot alternatives
Less Robot is a free prompt. Paste a draft ChatGPT wrote for you and two things you wrote yourself. Get the same message back without the "delve", the "I hope this finds you well" and the three-part lists, in your own voice.
It is not always the right tool. Here is when something else wins, and when it does not.
Dedicated tool
Paraphrasing and writing tools like QuillBot or Grammarly
- Pick it if
- You rewrite a lot of text every day and want suggestions inside your browser or word processor.
- Pick Less Robot if
- You have one AI draft in front of you and want it in your own voice, using messages you actually wrote, with a list of what changed.
Plain chatbot
Asking ChatGPT "make this sound more human"
- Pick it if
- You only need it a bit less formal and don't mind how it sounds.
- Pick Less Robot if
- You want the AI tells removed on purpose, every fact kept, and the style matched to samples of your writing instead of a new set of clichés.
By hand
Rewriting it yourself
- Pick it if
- It's short, or it matters enough that you'd rather write every word.
- Pick Less Robot if
- It's a longer email or post and you want a version in your voice in seconds, then tweak a line or two.
Where it falls short
It keeps the draft's facts, so a wrong fact stays wrong. Check them yourself. It's not for passing off AI writing where AI isn't allowed, like school work, and it won't promise to fool AI detectors. Without samples of your writing it can only make the text plainer.
