Less Robot
Make ChatGPT writing sound more human
ChatGPT wrote you a decent email in ten seconds, but it opens with "I hope this message finds you well", wants to "delve into" something, and your colleague will know in one line that you didn't write it.

Sample you can paste
The draft ChatGPT wrote (email to my team): "I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to delve into the current status of the Q4 dashboard project. It's important to note that, due to unforeseen data challenges, our timeline has shifted. Rest assured, we remain committed to delivering a robust, scalable, and user-friendly solution. The new target date is November 14th. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!" Two things I wrote myself: 1. "Heads up: the export is broken again. Looking at it now, should be fixed by lunch." 2. "Can we move Thursday to 3? I've got the dentist at 1, sorry." Who it's for: my team of five, we talk on Slack all day.
Steps
Step 1
Paste the AI draft
The email, message, post or cover letter ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini wrote for you. Keep the facts in it that are right.
Step 2
Add two things you wrote
Two or three messages you wrote yourself, to anyone. Old Slack messages or emails are perfect. This is how it learns how you sound.
Step 3
Say who it's for
Your boss, your team, a stranger, a client. It keeps the tone right for them without making it stiff.
Step 4
Get it back in your voice
The same message with every fact kept, the AI phrases cut, and a short list of what it changed so you can check.
What you get
What you put in and what you get out
When to use it
Use it right after ChatGPT hands you a draft that's correct but obviously AI, the moment before you paste it into an email, Slack or LinkedIn and someone spots the "delve".
When to skip it
It keeps the draft's facts, so a wrong fact stays wrong. Check them yourself. It's not for passing off AI writing where AI isn't allowed, like school work, and it won't promise to fool AI detectors. Without samples of your writing it can only make the text plainer.

The robot draft
"I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to delve into the current status..." 78 words to say the dashboard is late.
Full prompt
less-robot.prompt.txt
You rewrite AI-written drafts so they sound like the person sending them. You keep every fact and cut everything that makes text sound machine-written.
INPUT
- The draft an AI wrote.
- Two or three samples of the user's own writing.
- Who the message is for, and where it will be sent (email, Slack, LinkedIn, letter).
HOW TO WORK
1. If there are no writing samples, ask for two or three short messages the user wrote themselves. If they don't have any, say you'll make it plainer but can't match their voice, then continue.
2. List the facts in the draft: names, dates, numbers, decisions, requests. These must all survive.
3. Study the samples: sentence length, how they open and close, punctuation, contractions, emojis, words they use, how formal they are.
4. Rewrite the draft in that style, for that reader. Cut:
- Stock openers and closers ("I hope this finds you well", "don't hesitate to reach out", "I wanted to take a moment").
- AI words: delve, robust, seamless, leverage, crucial, navigate, landscape, tapestry, foster, rest assured.
- "It's important to note", "in today's fast-paced world", lists of exactly three adjectives, em dashes, exclamation marks they don't use.
- Repeating the same point twice.
5. Keep it about as short as the user would write it. Shorter is usually right.
6. If a fact in the draft looks wrong, vague or invented, flag it. Don't fix it silently and don't add new facts.
RULES
- Never invent facts, names, numbers or feelings the draft and the user didn't give.
- Match the reader: a note to the boss can be polite without being stiff.
- No explaining the rewrite inside the message.
OUTPUT
## Your version
The rewritten message, ready to send.
## What changed

How it works
ChatGPT is good at getting the facts of an email in the right order. It's also very easy to spot. "I hope this message finds you well", "delve", "rest assured", three adjectives in a row and a cheerful offer to answer any questions. People read one line and know.
This agent keeps what the draft gets right and takes out what gives it away. It uses two or three things you wrote yourself, so the result sounds like you on a normal day, not like a different chatbot.
What to paste
The AI draft. Two or three messages you wrote yourself, to anyone, like old Slack messages or emails. Who the new message is for.
What you get back
The same message rewritten in your voice, with every fact, date and number kept. Then a short list of what it cut or changed, so you can check nothing important went missing.
It won't add facts that weren't in the draft. If something in the draft looks wrong or unclear, it flags it instead of smoothing it over.
Questions about Less Robot
What makes text sound like ChatGPT?
The usual tells are stock openers ("I hope this finds you well"), words like delve, robust and seamless, lists of exactly three adjectives, "it's important to note", lots of em dashes, and a cheerful closing line offering more help. Less Robot removes these and keeps your facts.
Why do I need to paste my own writing?
Without it, any rewrite just swaps one generic style for another. Two or three real messages show how long your sentences are, how you open and close, and which words you use, so the result sounds like you and not like a different robot.
Is Less Robot free?
Yes. The prompt is free to copy, download, and reuse under CC-BY-4.0. There is no sign-up on One Agent a Day. You only need access to a chat model such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
Which AI tools does Less Robot work in?
